” I always get to where I’m going by walking away from where I have been.”
― Winnie the Pooh, A.A. Milne

After writing a college paper my University professor commented, “you have found the fountain of youth.” I smiled and said to myself, “if he only knew!” You see, individuals that suffer from this disorder maintain a youthful countenance that is far beyond that of their average age group. Yes, this is amazing but on the other hand, if only you can glimpse the internal aspect of the body you may stop and wonder, in amazement and awe as you wrestle with what is happening with them, with us. The extensive damage that the organs are going through, some of them are hanging on a thread, barely, performing their tasks. You see outwardly we appear to be fine, but inwardly, we are slowly deteriorating and this can be deceiving when you call in sick from work frequently, or you are performing a mediocre task and exclaim, “this is too much for me,” or you find yourself folding in a corner grappling with pain all over your body. This is why I called the title the fountain of youth.
